Working Group “Anthropology of Global Inequalities”
Our research focuses on a critical analysis of categories of difference and their effectiveness. We investigate the dynamics of production of knowledge and politics in relation to the making of difference and equality as well as the processes of inclusion and exclusion involved. Specific practices and relationships are in the centre of this study. Social movements, migration and border regimes, politics of belonging and financiality of risk all count among our empirical fields.
Our teaching particularly concentrates on political and economical anthropology, critical race studies, post-colonial and feminist approaches as well as science and technology studies.
